Bio
Mikal spent her early childhood wandering the Sonoran desert before her family headed back to Kansas City, Missouri where her father, grandparents and great grandparents called home. A creature of the foothills, mountains, rivers and plains, she continues to roam the landscape; drawing inspiration from her travels, love life, and the state of the Union.
She has been touring solo and with various musical projects since 1999.
The Kansas City Star, Deli Magazine and Wednesday MidDay Medley declared her album “The Musical” to be one of the top releases of 2015.
In Spring 2018, she released her sequel album "The Musical II" featuring the single "Everybody's Baby." It made the top 10 releases of 2019 on 90.9FM The Bridge and 90.1FM KKFI and was featured in the top 3 of DJ Mark Manning's Wednesday MidDay Medley.
Her other projects include her duo Shapiro Brothers and State City Films.
